Tragic Legacy

by Swilly

/

about

Written by Dave Ward remembering the horrors of how close we came to a nuclear war and at the same time how war is still a big part of our culture.

lyrics

there are dreams in their eyes
don’t let the hopes of the children be fadin’ or dyin’
for we need them to grow strong

we can’t tell them more lies
hide the truth or just stand there ignoring
all the things that are wrong

who remembers ‘62?
there were weapons aimed at me and you
we were all to young to die
some stopped to pray while others cried
that sta with us for a long, long time too
what did they do

What a tragic legacy
Is this the way we want to leave?
Or will the powers that be finally come to see it too?
stop the madness they create
Show some love and stop the hate
Well, it might be too late for me and you
